Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
A comminuted fracture of distal end of 5th metacarpal needs a careful asessment by the orthopedician regarding the scattered bony fragments. In most of the cases internal fixation is not possible and closed reduction is tried with application of POP slab or cast after evaluation of the extent of swelling associated.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.

you have the diagnosis done by x-ray conirm the diagnosis and attend your Gp or Orthopaedician to immobilise the hand with plaster cast done and wait for 6 wks or as advised by orthopaedician.

Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
