does a dialysis patient medication emit an odor which can be detected by caregivers or other house hold members.my significant other feels he is effected by my brother who goes to dialysis T TH SAT. he feels that the medications given during dialysis is somehow transferred to me by caring for my brother and an odor or smell given off by dialysis patients causing HIM to have diarrhea and constipation. He stated the same happened to him years ago with him caring for his sister who is on dialysis. He feels I have become immuned to the odor and medications the are emitted from my brother going to dialysis. I am a retired RN and can not understand my significant others thinking. I want to tell him he is delusional, but he feels this is real. He feels it only happens when he is with me, LOL! Personally I have considered he wants to break off the relationship that is only five months old. He said no. First he said hethought it was medications I am taking, that he is being effected via kissing and body fluids. Then he said it came to him it happened years ago with his sister who is a dialysis patient. Honestly I think he is neurotic or hypochrondriac. guess my question is can dialysis patients emit an odor or smell after treatment that cause household occupants to be effected. and further medications one individual is taking is it possible via body fluids to effect another person. My nursing expirence has not shown this to be possible but I don't claim to know everything. I think he even said just emitted in air no contact. He is neurotic, I can't comprehend any other explanation. Help
