Hi, I'm Busy Writing A Novel And Would Just Like

hi, I'm busy writing a novel and would just like to know if the following is accurate:
an explosion wedged a piece of glass in my one character's left calf. I wrote it so that it'd wedged between the lesser saphenous vein and peroneal venae comites? I also said that because of that fact there's moderate bleeding, suggesting no vein has been ruptured. In removing the glass my patient couldn't have anesthetics so the doc yanked it out and quickly covered the wound with antiseptic cloths to disinfect the wound and stop bleeding - is this accurate though?
