How Long Typhoid Takes To Cure For A Child Who Is Already On Crocin And Cefolac?
my 1 yr 10 month baby is detected typhoid SALMONELLA TYPHI after 7 days of stepped fever and only took CROCIN. Feve is continuing and medicine CEFOLAC 100 started on 8 day. 1) When can we expect improvement in baby 2) whrn should test be repeated to confirm that it is curred perfectly/permanently for now, Rgrds

i want to know his blood culture report and sensitivity report for the exact management of this typhoid,it is easy if you have that study,otherwise if you have already on this line of management,baby will respond in 48-72 hrs.ok

Many times now days it has been seen that cefixime is resistant to salmonella. So my personal view is to shift to some other antibiotic which has got some more sensitivity for the bug causing the disease.
If fever do not respond to the given medicine in 3 to 5 days then it is better to give intravenous antibiotic after hospitalization.
