hydrocodone and 2 naproxen per day. Recently, we have stopped the naproxen and she is now taking 3 hydrocodone and 10mg of amitriptyline per day. She has been on the amitriptyline at least 2 weeks with no apparent side effects but this morning she had a frightening episode of feeling that she could not breathe and finding it difficult to breathe. Since then she is no longer distressed but her breathing is more rapid than normal. Her blood pressure is 96/51 and her pulse is 97. Her blood pressure is often low but her pulse is not usually so high.
She was also off her food yesterday and has eaten very little today. I am worried about a possible heart attack due to the breathing difficulty. The only medical help is the emergency room at the hospital and getting her there would be difficult. It would also be very distressing to her. Am I worrying unnecessarily?
