Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am a 52 year old woman who was diagnosed about 2 years ago with achilles tendonosis. i was SUPPOSED TO GET TENDON REPLACEMENT SURGERY about a year ago but because i'm homeless, my surgery has been postponed numerous times. at first my symptoms were mostly extreme pain in the back of my heel. especially after periods of inactivity. in the past three months or so my symptoms have changed. first i noticed new pain in both of my thighs. then i noticed tingling and numbness in my hands. weakness then started to be a problem which affected my walking greatly. at this point i can no longer walk at all and it is almost impossible to stand at all. even to go to the bathroom. i also have increased problems with incontinence. ive also noticed blood in my stools or more like mucus and blood on my anus after a bowel movement. please help me most days i cant even get out of bed. even when i try i am so uncoordinated and in so much pain that I am only able to get on my feet after several attempts. i am normally very active though slightly overweight. i have almost given up hope of anything like a normal life. very recently i am now experiencing pain in my hips,,, back and arms . i have also noticed my neck is stiff frequently. i have two adult daughters who i believe think i"m exagerating the pain or my debilitation but i actually try to downplay it so that they dont worry too much. this is a completely new situation for me to be in. 2 years ago i would hike 2 or 3 miles a day after completing an 8 hour shift at a physically demanding job. now i am unable to walk or stand a tall on my own
