Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am watching a friends son of 8 years old who is hyper active and has some behavior issues, but he is polite and pretty easy going once you lay down the law. well yesterday I noticed he was using the restroom with the door cracked, and I closed the door and he asked if he could keep it cracked bc he was scared of the door closed. well today he went in the bathroom and had the door wide open and my daughter standing there watching him. I kind of freaked out, and I got a little fussy with him and told him that does not fly in my home and asked why he did this. He put his head down and said " im afraid a clown will get me" but I asked him about the other sitters he has that I know have girls in the home and I asked him if he does that in their home and he said no. I explained to him that we do not do that in our home that we shut the door and that going to the bathroom is a private thing especially for older boys in front of a younger girl he is 8 and my daughter is 6. IM THE MOM AND DONT EVEN USE THE BATHROOM IN FRONT OF MY DAUGHTER! this is the way I was raised and now im kind of nervous to let this boy be alone with my daughter now . is this normal behavior for a boy this age, or am I making too big of a deal about it?
