Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a 71 year old mother. she broke her hip approximately 1 year ago. the hip was not replaced, rather repaired with screws. recently, she is suffering from extreme back pain that begins at her lower back and runs down through her thigh to her knee on the side of her body where the hip was replaced. she is in so much pain she began taking 5mg of hydrocodone from my father's prescription, NOT prescribed to her by a physician. my mother takes high-blood pressure medication. i do not know the specific blood pressure medication. i realize she should not take pain medication not prescribed to her. is there an immediate danger with her taking 5mg of hydrocodone with her blood pressure medication? is there a specific blood pressure medication that should not be taken in combination with hydrocodone?
