I Have Numbness In The Gum Right Next To My

i have numbness in the gum right next to my two front teeth
and it hasn't subsided for at least a week
I went to the dentist and he took an x-ray and saw nothing
I have had a history of concussions, three in my lifetime but none recently, the last one was
June 17th, 2001. I was involved in the World Trade Center Clean up but only for a few days.
I have been retired from the FDNY since November of 2002.
I have never had any sinus problems. I did have braces but that was when
I was 12 years old. Right now I have the numbness centered between
my 2 upper front teeth.
At first I thought I burned my mouth on Pizza but the numbness still persists.
What do you think I should do?
