i was in. the er. for high blood pressure heart palpitations chills sweaty fatigue and nausea. the blood work showed my potassium was 2.8. so they gave me one bag by iv. and two of those pill of potassium. i also had muscle spasms in my upper back. mu question is. when the iv potassium was finished. they did not do any bloodwork to see if it was a higher potassium level. l left to go to the cafeteria. my blood pressure was sky high again. i have a wrist cuff. and my muscle spasms were worse. how am i to know if it is at a safe level. if i dont stay in bed. my bloodpressure wont stay down. i still have some muscle spadms and chills. i have a script of potassium pills that was given me my lazt hosp stay. about two months ago. i had been throwing up. i never took them. i felt they were making me nausiated. what should i do? i am taking one pill a day. i dont want to get it to high either. this last er doc didnt even check my levels before he dismissed me. he even said that low potassium does nor affect the heart or high blood pressure. dont say go to my doc. she just sends me to er
