i'm 60 years old, i've had hep c since the late 70's, I found out I had it in 1985. I tried the cure in 2006, and 2010. I was talking to old friends who have tried,and are doing the Harvoni treatment and I'm on the Harvoni treatment for 5 weeks. I became aware that one of my friends from Denver, is still hooked on methamphetimine, is still using meth, at 60 years old, ( what a dumb ass)and taking harvoni at the same time. Now! Here is my question. Is this even going to be a cure for him at all? Will the Harvvoni have any effect on the hep c? I know that there can be some things the can block the medicine. I had to stop one of my meds because it could block the treatment from working! Because it is so expensive,$32,000 a bottle, I would think it would be better given to some one else who would be better off. Someone who could use it. So settle our arguement. Can he still be using and take harvoni??? Will it even work? Niether of us has had a test yet to see if we are making progress.
