My 4 Year Old Son Has Been Diagnosed With Having

my 4 year old son has been diagnosed with having severe allergies. the last episode started last wednesday and the dr prescribed prednisolone. the congestion relieved after about 2-3 doses....we gave him one dose on friday, 2 on saturday, 2 on sunday and one on monday for a 3 day treatment and stopped because the pharmacist said for a 4-year old 3 to 4 days should be enough. he hasn't had any since the single dose on monday so its been 2 days since his last dose and tonight he has a lot of congestion again. is it safe to give another dose or more to get this under control again and what other alternatives are there to steroid use for this condition? thanks!
