my mother has Alzheimers, she''s 84 and currently in good physical condition and does most everything independently, just can't remember much at all. She's now in her 9th year with this disease.
My question is 3X's in the last month, one shoulder has drooped like she was the Hunchback of Notre Dame, bending sideways (not forward) at the waist with one arm hanging longer than the other...then he next day, she's straight up again. She's in assisted living and the nurses say her vital signs are good despite this odd position. She can walk, but she walks a bit slanted. I've taken her out and walked with her and she has no complaints. She doesn't seem to notice it herself. is this the breakdown of messages getting to the body? No one seems to know. Nurses haven't seen this before.
