my mother who is now 90 years had a trochantric fracture of left thigh bone in 2011.after that she was able to walk with aid of walking stick but from 2016 february her movements are difficult and she is mostly on wheel chair. Now she is finding it difficult even to get up and stand or make a few steps to the wheel chair with our help. She had undergone physiotherapy for her hand movements and she has strength in her hands. She is diabetic.HBA1c is 8.Is there a risk in making her stand up and walk a few steps with a walker or should we keep her bed bound ? What is the risk ? She is now showing beginning signs of dementia too.
