What Causes Dizziness Along With Weak Knees And Anxiety?

Four weeks ago I began feeling light headed and week knees accompanied by anxiousness. While getting a manicure I became extremely weak and felt like I was going to pass out. I had a friend pick me up and take me to the emergency room. Four hours later and several tests, all came back fine. I was told to see my primary within 48 hours. My primary said the blood work the hospital took showed high white cell count indicating infection. She diagnosed me with a hidden sinus infection and prescribed 10 days of ciprofloxacin. I completed the treatment and still had light symptoms, forehead pressure, water left ear, sinus congestion. I then saw an EMT last Thursday, who prescribed a steroid Methylprednisolone, which I had an adverse reaction to and fluticasone. A nurse in my family says I have vertigo and should be on a 20 day antibiotic septra ds. I have ringing in my ears and continue to feel foggy, both doctors are saying I need to come back in for another consult instead of prescribing me the recommended septra. I took meclizine for motion sickness over the weekend and I felt normal for two days. Still using the fluticasone which helps my sinuses, but symptoms persist today. Emergency room co-pay, two primary visit co-pays and a ENT specialist co-pay all within 3 weeks, I just cannot afford to keep getting falsely diagnosed and missing any more days from work.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I suggest you, kindly follow up with one particular doctor and do not take opinions of so many people like family nurse etc. 20 day antibiotic is not followed anywhere unless you require admission and it is that serious. I think you might be having sinusitis. Get appropriately treated for the same. That may be the cause of your giddiness. One you are cured of sinusitis even your giddiness may subside. If you have a simple sinus infection, your doctor may recommend you use a decongestant and saline nasal washes. You shouldn’t use an over-the-counter decongestant more than 3 days, though, because it can make you more congested. If your doctor gives you antibiotics, you’ll probably take them for 10 to 14 days. The symptoms usually disappear with treatment. Warm, moist air may help if you have chronic sinusitis. You can use a vaporizer, or you can inhale steam from a pan of warm water. Make sure the water isn't too hot.

There are some other things you can do yourself to help with chronic sinusitis:

1) Warm compresses can ease pain in the nose and sinuses.
2) Saline nose drops are safe to use at home.
3) Over-the-counter decongestant drops or sprays can help. Don’t take them longer than recommended.
4) You also need to avoid any triggers linked to your sinusitis.

Hope I have answered your query.
