What Is The Remedy For Sore And Swollen Boil On Bottom?
Hello, My daughter is 9yrs old and has some spots on her bottom. At the moment she has one that looks like a boil, very sore, red and swollen, also hot to touch. I have been using a tea tree oil cream to soothe the spots previously but this one has come up whilst using this cream. It seems to be dragging her down in, especially as it hurts to move etc. She feels to embarrassed to see a doctor, what should I do?

Hi.
As per your case history your daughter is having a furuncle.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
