Why Iver Function Result Abnormal?
my daughter just got some results on a liver function test with something that is suppose to be 67 normal and her's is 405. She doesn't drink, is married and doesn't have multiple partners..only one. she is 25 years old and is super scared. She is a pharmacy Tech.

increase in the level of liver enzymes(AST,ALT) reflect an INJURY to the Liver. medically, the condition is know as "Hepatitis". it maybe caused by:
1. Virus (A, B, C, D, E)
2. Alcohol 3. drug induced (medication)
4. Gall bladder or common bile duct pathology
5."Fat excess" (indicates in your case)
further evaluation needed
do following test:
1. Viral serology ( hepA, B and C) anti HAV, HBsAg, anti-HBV, anti HCV
2. lipid profile
3. ultrasound abdomen
HepA virus is a common cause and self limited disease.
You may visit hepatologist and results of above tests as soon as possible.
