Hello Doctor! My mother-in-law is 56 yrs old, got affected with kidney problem and she is suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis and Infection Arthritis for around 9 yrs. Her Kidney scan report -- KIDNEY: Both Kidneys are contracted small in size, shape and position. No calculus in the kidneys. No separation of collecting system. Right kidney: 8.3 X 4.3 cm. Left: 8.7 X 4.7 cm. Hyper echoic tarenchemal critical echoes. CMD reduced -- URINARY BLADDER:Volume 200ml, wall thickness 4mm, post void urine volume 50ml. Significant post void residual urine volume -- PELVIS: Uterus antiverted, normal in size, shape and position. Endometrial thickness is normal. Endometrium: 3mm. Uterus size: 4 X 2.1 X 1.8 cm. Right Ovary: 1.8 X 1.3 cm. Left: 2 X1.8 cm. IMPRESSION: Chronic cystitis . By lateral/ contracted kidneys - Medica / Renel diseas. Suggested: Urstoscopy. Please advice on the critical stage of Kidney, whether it can be cured by medicine. Thanks
