Overweight. Low Thyroid Levels. Should Treatment Be Based On Thyroid Level Or Symptoms?
I am extremely overweight and have been for years but I don't eat enough to deserve it. I have had my thyroid levels checked and was told that it was low "but it's naturally low". I have no idea what that means. Both my daughters are on medication for low thyroid, one of which started out with a very over active thyroid and required thyroid ablasion and is now under active. My question is... is a healthy thyroid level an actual number or is there a range to aim for and should treatment be solely based on the numbers or should it be based on symptoms as well?
Hi, As you got thyroid, you have to take treatment for hypothyroid, otherwise you may not loose your weight inspite of having strict diet regime. Treatment of hypothyroid depends upon how much is your thyroid hormone level. consult your doctor and show your report. After seeing report he go for treatment. Ok and take care.
