Small Child, Thalassemia Minor, Fluctuating Fever. Taking Ibugesic Plus. Symptoms Of Malaria?
Hi my 3yrs n 8 months son got 100 degree fever on 5th Dec.no fever on 6th ...102 degree on 7th and about 99 degree of n on on 8th after exerting a bit..medicine gvn is Ibugesic plus SOS...can this be malaria?? Or what do u think can such a fever be??? His basic investigations are normal...but he has a trait of minor thalassemia ..n has been having recurrent episodes of fever since Sep...it gets alright without antibiotics ..only Ibugesic SOS.thanks

1 week fever on and off can be anything like malaria,dengue, typhoid, urinary infection, viral fevers,pneumonia etc,
The child also needs to be investigated for tuberculosis.
we have to look at associated symptoms like cough,chills etc to decide the cause.
