When a child is born at our home, parents wonder how to prevent the new born from diseases. Ayurveda has gifted us Suvarnaprashan to improve immunity of Child. ‘Suvarna’ means ‘Gold’ and ‘Prashan’ means ‘to lick’. Licking of Gold by a child from birth up to twelve years is called as ‘Suvarnaprashan’.

Gold is best metal that is effective in all ages, males and females. Gold protects body, mind and intellect and helps improve immunity.

Suvarnaprashan is one of the sixteen ‘Sanskar’ (rituals) described in Ancient Indian Scriptures. Newborn is made to lick honey by Gold stick and write ‘AUM’ on his tongue.  ‘Suvarnaprashan’ is a mixture of Gold, such nice herbs, cow ghee and honey, to be made in Pushya Naxatra, to make it more effective. It is given to newborn upto twelve years age.
