Things you should pack the bag before delivery


    Things you should pack the bag with :

    1. Your birth plan.
    2. Dressing gown -- useful if you end up pacing hospital corridors in early labor .
    3. Slippers.
    4. Socks - [your feet can get cold during labor] .
    5. An old nightdress or a T shirt to wear in labor. It might get a bit messy during labor.
    6. Massage oil or lotion if you would like to be massaged during your labor.
    7. Lip balm .
    8. Snacks and drinks for you while you are in labor.
    9. Watch with a second hand, to time contractions .
    10. Digital camera or camcorder. If you want to bring a camcorder, check with the hospital beforehand -- not all of them allow them in delivery rooms.
    11. Relaxation materials: books, magazines, games etc.
    12. Pictures of someone or something you love (the inspiration you may need to see you through to the end)
    13. Toiletries .
    14. Music to listen to .

    For you after birth :

    1. Going-home outfit, and loose comfortable clothes to wear while you're in hospital [ It will take a while for your tummy to go down ].
    2. Nursing bras .
    3. Breast pads for when your milk comes in .
    4. Maternity pads .
    5. Nightshirt or T-shirt -- front opening shirts are useful for breastfeeding .
    6. Toiletries .
    7. Towels, hairbrush, toothbrush and toothpaste .
    8. Old /disposable knickers -- don't bring your best ones as they will get messy.
    9. Address book/ all the numbers of the people who you want to call soon after your delivery.

    For the new celebrity :

    1. One outfit for the trip home (stretchable outfits are the most comfortable and easy to put on your baby) .
    2. Baby shorts and vests for your baby.
    3. Baby blanket .
    4. Nappies.
    5. A pair of socks .
    6. jacket [for winter babies/ if the weather is cold).
    7. Muffler to cover the head.

    For your husband :

    1. A change of clothes and Snacks and drinks.
