Question: My 16 month old daughter is suffering from fever for 7 days now (25 oct onwards). Doc prescribed paracetamol / brufen on first visit. On second visit after 3 days, doc prescribed antibiotics. But fever hasn't left her.
No other symptoms like vomiting and chill.
Today we are taking her to doc again for blood test. Please advise.

Dear XXXXXXX
I think the future plan of treatment is depending on the blood tests
results. In the mean time I think continue with paracetamol syrup
(500mgm/5ml) 2.5mls three times daily. The other thing is give her extra fluid
to keep the hydration well. One of the causes in infants to have high temp
is dehydration. Get electrol sachets, dissolve one XXXXXXX in 300mls of boiled and cool water and feed the baby frequently. I assure you that as long as you do the above and monitor the temperature and feeds there is a very little chance of major complication.
Wish your daughter to have speedy recovery.
Please contact me if you get any query.
kindest regards
