Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Irregular periods at the age of 41 can occur due to causes like:
-Hormonal imbalance
-Cervical or uterine polyps
-Fibroids
-Cervical erosion, cervical neoplasia etc.
According to your description there is more possibility for local factors like cervical erosion, polyp or neoplasia.
Though the possibility of cervical neoplasia is less in general but the risk increases around 50% in smokers compared with non-smokers.
So better to consult gynecologist and get examined to find out the possible cause and take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer your follow up queries. If you are satisfied with all my answer, please rate the answer after closing the discussion.
