Are BP Of 115/74 And Pulse Of 67 While Having Stress Normal?
I just wanted to clarify an episode that I had yesterday afternoon, before I spend money into looking into it.
I have a trip out of state this Saturday and realized that my passport expired. I spent the last 2 days scrambling trying to figure out what to do, and every plan I had always had a flaw.
Anyway, I guess I was so anxious about it that I had a palpitation. I felt a thud on the front right side of my neck. I felt it and felt my heart thudding. I felt a thud in the same place probably 3 times at different times. Nothing in the chest. Just a slight thud in the neck.
That wound me up even more because I figured I was having a palpitation and a had almost an instant sudden rush feeling that I was going to faint. Throughout all of this I had a slight chest pain.
Today, my nervousness was off and on, but not as bad as it was yesterday. Not to long ago, every time I gently touched my chest, it would cause a slight pain which caused a slight pain to the bottom of my jaw. Nothing more than that.
Any clues on what it could be? I get so nervous when I see the possible things online. Palpitations, A fib, valve disorder, etc. which gets me even more nervous. I'm thinking I had a panic attack but I don't know if I had an irregular heart beat or not. I guess its something to check.
My last checkup was April and a nurse let me know that my lungs and heart sound healthy, and I shouldn't worry. During late march, I had an EKG done after a panic attack and no abnormalities were found.
Hopefully this helps.

A little bit more info: I took my blood pressure after the episode, and it was 115/74 with a heart rate of 67. I don't check my resting heart rate often, but when I have, its been around the 80s.
If it means anything, during the episode, I drank as much water as I could and sat in front of a fan. I don't know if that affected anything.
If it also helps, my last notable palpitation was August 2015. The episode I had yesterday was nothing like the one I had in August.
It's just because of your anxiety
Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear
After carefully going through the medical history provided by you of your symptoms and considering your young age I would like to tellife you that it's just because of your tendency to take stress more than usual.
The thud that you felt in your neck is because of the palpitations you were having that time. It's a common presentation with most of the patients.
However keeping possibilities open there are two important factors that could cause palpitations in this age group
1. Anxiety : When we are stressed there is surge of sone stress hormones in our body that increases the sympathetic drive causing heart to beat fast leading to tachycardia or palpitations.
2. PSVT also called Paroxysmal Supra ventricular Tachycardia. It is a non fatal condition in which person have episodes of palpitations on and off. This can very well be taken care with medicines. But for its diagnosis it's important to get one ECG done when you are having palpitations not after its over.
3. One more thing I would like to suggest you is to get your Thyroid Function Test done. As it's abnormal levels also can cause palpitations.
And last but not the least am hoping you do not smoke but if you do then you have to stop it as it also promotes palpitations significantly.
Otherwise your blood pressure levels and heart rate are well within normal recommended limits.
I hope this information will be helpful.
Kind regards
