Are Abdominal Pain, Joints Pain And Sore Throat Symptoms Of HIV?
I had sex with a massage girl whose status hiv status is unknown. It is a protected sex. but during the sex the condom has slipped for 30 to 40 seconds. after a week I got flu symptoms, then lower right abdominal pain, Joint pains and sore throat. I have consulted the Sexologist and I have taken HIV-1 RNA Quantitative Realtime PCR after 6 weeks. the result came as tatget Not Detected. my doctor told that this is 100% conclusive and this is being used to detect the actual HIV virus.now it's more than three months my sore throat is still there. is that test is conclusive or still I need to take further HIV test.
HIV is most unlikely in such case.

Hi
Thank you for asking Health care magic forum.
I have gone through your query. As you have gone for a PCR test after 6 week of exposure you are most likely to have HIV infection. But you can do a HIV Duo test again now to clarify yourself and to remove your anxiety. HIV DUO test after 3 months give 100% surety also.
As you are having abdominal pain , joint pain and sore throat other STDs like gonorrhea and chlamydia should be ruled out. You can go for a penile swab test or urine test to rule out these. These agents can give reactive arthritis which is characterised by pain and swelling in joints.
Continuous streptococcal sore throat can give joint pain also. A throat examination by ENT specialist should be done. If there is bacterial etiology then proper antibiotics will make you better. You should also avoid cold drinks. Taking vitamin C chewable form daily also will be helpful.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

Sorry, that was a mistake in spelling. You are most unlikely having HIV. Real time PCR after 6 weeks gives 99% of accuracy. HIV Duo test after 3 months give 100% accuracy.
For HSV 1 if it is active then antiviral treatment with acyclovir or famcyclovir can be taken by your treating doctor’s advice. Taking Vitamin C chew able form daily also helps.
You don't need to worry about HIV again. Just for your assurance get a HIV Duo test also.

As your western blot test after 110 days from exposure is negative , you don't need to worry about HIV infection from that.
