Are Colonoscopies Required After Removing Colon?

Question: If I have had my colon removed do I need to continue with Colonoscopys?
Brief Answer:
it depends
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
Well, it he whole colon including rectum is removed then there is no need for colonoscopy because there is nothing that can be seen But if only one part of colon is removed then colonoscopy should be done,in cases of cancers,it should be done once a year. If colectomy was done for some other diseases then it should be done each 2 years. Wish you good health. Regards
