Are Heart Palpitations During Masturbation Or Sex Normal?

default
Posted on Wed, 22 Nov 2017
Question: Are heart palpitations during masturbation or sex normal? Or are they a cause for concern? I have had normal echo, ECG/EKG, holter monitor and 30 day event monitor. CKMB and triponin levels are all normal as well. I still have panic with palpitations and chronic chest pain even though my heart has been ruled healthy. Should I be concerned over palpitations during masturbation or sex?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry about

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear

After going through the details provided by you i would like to tell you that its normal to have ectopics/palpitations transiently during sex or masturbation as these acts as associated with increased sympathetic stimulation which causes our heart to beat fast giving us a sense of palpitations.

Also as all your basic and necessary cardiac screening test have come out to be normal and taking into consideration your younger age group there is nothing to worry for. Its advisable that you should proceed in these act a bit slowly and gently taking your time so as to avoid sudden surge of excitement which can lead to palpitations.

I hope this information will answer your query and will relieve your worries.

Kind Regards
