Are Sudden Increased Heart Rate And Chest Pain Symptoms Of Atrial Fibrillation?

Question: Yes I am 77 years old with past heart problems, a-fib and double bi-pass surgery. Both have been successfully treated. My blood pressure is 120 over 65, but suddenly my pulse has risen to 110 from around 65. Also slight chest pain. Whats up?
Brief Answer:
You should visit the nearest ED ASAP
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
I am sorry to hear about your current issue.
Due to your heart history, you should be evaluated in the closest emergency room. You might be back in AFib which is causing your heart rate to be elevated.
Chest pain is caused by a number of different things - heart, lungs, esophagus, muscles, chest wall, stomach, etc. However, again, due to your history, you should be evaluated by a medical professional, have an EKG, and blood work to rule out cardiac causes.
Please send any questions you might have.
Thanks.
