Are There Any Ways To Increase The Secretion Of Breast Milk?
Question: I have a baby boy of 2months and 20days old. Since his birth I can breastfeed my baby. But doctor told us after recognizing regular crying of baby at the time of feeding that baby is getting less amount of milk due to getting less milk from mother. And he guided us about lactogen formula powders as a substitute for milk. I want my should get enough milk from breastfeeding only so that his immune system may get better.
Kindly guide us for increasing milk from breasfeeding only. Whether any food diet or medicines.

Ensure proper latching
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Is the baby latched to both nipple and areola ?
If sucking only from nipple it will get irritated and milk output will become less.
Mother should be provided privacy.
Proper nutrition of the mother should be taken care ( high protein diet like plenty of pulses , plenty of liquids including water, milk, juices )
Multivitamin, iron and calcium supplementation to be continued.
Some herbal medicine like LACTARE Capsule 2 three times daily said to be help in the enhanced lactation.
Metoclorpropamide tablets (Tab Perinorm one three times daily
You can try these medicines for a week to see if they help.
Wishing your child good health
