Hi, I am from India. I delivered baby 32 days back. I had normal delivery and the delivery was very painful. I didn t have sufficient milk and so my gynac suggested Perinorm tablet and I took it for 3 days. The milk production improved. I had a problem while feeding the baby. My nipple was hurting very badly and they suggested to apply NipCare ointment. I applied for few days felt better... after 15 days of delivery I had lump in my left breast and as usual was very painful and hurting while feeding. Then fever started and the temperature went to 105.8 F. We immediately went to the hospital and the milk was extracted from the left breast and the breast become softer and I felt little relieved.. Later the doc said that I don t have mastitis and told me get urine tested.. I had urinary infection and took Antibiotics for 5 days and the infection was cleared. again after stopping the antibiotics I started getting fever but not very high. The lump was still there and gynac said if the size increases then it needs to be operated. The size infact reduced and a bigger lump has appeared behind that. I dont have pain when I touch it. I keep extracting milk from the left breast but the lump is still there... I feel feverish at night and the temp will be b/w 100 to 101 F. but the fever is only for 1/2 n hr to 1 hr and then my temp becomes normal. I am worried. Should I get it operated or will the lump dissappear after few days if I keep it empty most of the time? Kindly advise
No. I think that this is a serious condition so I will suggest you to get admission in hospital, start intravenous high dose antibiotics and get operated as early as possible.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
