Are Visible Blue Veins On The Finger Normal?
Might be a normal visible vein or you might have bruised it somewhere.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
Please upload a photo of your thumb so I can have a look at it.
Veins in the hands become visible normally, especially if you have a rather white skin.
The bruise color may be because you might have hit it somewhere, but in that case the area around should be tender too.
Also, while you might have hit it, you might have wounder slightly the nerve, that is quite superficial there, and that explains the numb sensation.
Anyway, let me see a photo of it, and let me know if you have other symptoms other then what you have already just told me.
Looking forward to your follow up question.

Possible carpal tunnel syndrome.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
From all the information I have, it looks like it may be carpal tunnel syndrome.
It is a irritation of the nerve in the way between its bones.
My recommendations are that you take a painkiller regularly for 7 days (Ibuprofen 400mg 3 times/day) so it will remove the inflammation of the nerve.
Also, try to keep the hand in neutral position when possible (when you work on computer, or when you work-out, or when you sleep).
I would not worry about the visible veins- they are normal, unless it is painful when you touch it. In that case, as I said above, please upload a photo and I can advise depending on how it is looks.
I hope it makes sense.
Let me know if you have other questions or concerns.

Dr. Papaqako
