Bumped Hip, Muscle Strain And Weakness. No Broken Bones. How To Cure It?

Question: I bumped my hip against a piece of furniture while walking by. Hip previously sore, not serious, no broken bones, just muscle strain and weakness.
What should I do? Have ice on it now

I have read your query in detail. The symptoms you have described are more likely to be symptoms of muscles strain.

To get relief from the pain and for quick healing:
1. Apply ice for 48 hrs and after that do hot fomatation to relieve the pain and spasm.
2. Apply local anti-inflammatory gel 2-3 times a day.
3. Take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to reduce pain and local swelling or inflammation.
4. Do not put weight or try to do exercise that involve painful muscles. Give proper time for the injury to heal.

You mentioned this was a muscle strain, not a fracture. I can walk on it around the house. How. Long until. I can do light exercise, stretching, etc? PLEASE ADVISE.

In our orthopaedic language, it means fracture.

Anyway you are suffering from muscle strain. It will takes 7-10 days to heal. So do not worry, follow the advice already given.You will feel better soon.
