Suggest Treatment For Spiral Fracture Of Tibia/fibula
My son has a spiral fracture of the left tib/fib... Very severe, but the growth plates were not affected.. it was treated nonsurgically... the dr tells me that the continued displacement of the one bone is normal and the bone will heal in a globlike fashion... I am an ICU Rn and besides being mom am very worried about this treatment... Would/should I get a 2nd opinion? I forgot to say that he is very healthy 14 year old 5 8 was 145 lbs and has lost 20 lbs. The healing time has been 5 weeks so far with the quesionable bone going from 2 to 6 to 2 and 3 degrees.
