Does A Stress Fracture Lead To Fracture If Not Treated?
hi can a stress fracture become a prper fracture if not treated ? im 48 probably 2 stone overweight and ran a race that i probably didnt train long enough for , then 2 weeks after that i suffered a small low impact car accident , from then on my ankle became increasingly painful , i ws told after 4 weeks of mis diagnosis it was a stress fracture , but the ortho on friday said i had a nondisplaced fracture of the fibula
Stress fracture (or) fracture both have same meaning. Fracture is discontinuity of bone, which may be partial or total break of bone. If diagnosed with stress fracture (or) fracture, you need rest to unite the bone. Fracture displaced or not no matter, if more displaced, you need alignment with or without surgery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
