Question: Thanks I have been taking Arimidex for about a month and have just visited XXXXXXX Lanka. I stopped the Armidex for 3 days as I was constipated while in XXXXXXX Lanka. Never usually so. I have just had a head cold (2 days) which started in the plane on the way home and now have red raised lumps on my arms and back of neck and spreading. Is it possible that Armidex is causing that? I have no fever nor aches Some blurred vision (little)
thanks
Brief Answer:
Considerations.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for sending the question.
it is unlikely that the Arimidex is causing your rash. this may be due to something else such as a virus.
I think you should continue taking the medication as prescribed by your oncologist. If the rash continues you might bring it to the attention of your primary care doctor. It might be something that would respond to a topical steroid cream.
Also it is important that you make sure you drink plenty of fluids and stay well hydrated if you have been dealing with constipation. Also make sure your diet is very well balanced with adequate fiber.
thank you again for sharing your health care concern. Please let me know if you have additional thoughts you would like to share with me.
