Can Ativan Treat Anxiety?
Question: for tht past two days i have noticed a man staring at me while i am getting into my Auto after my college is over at 3;45 where i am a faculty. According to the Auto driver this man is waiting to take his daughter who is a student in my college. I am getting irational fear of this man. Please advice me if i should take Ativan 0.2mg?

In my youth , i had the illusionary problem of someone following me from back the n i had taken treatment from psychiarist for more than 10 years along with other medicines which i dont remember i used to take ATIVAN 2mg also for anxiety. Iwas also in state of depresiion for which one medicine iused to take w as Paxidep

Current problem is related to past symptoms. It is good that you have sought for help this much early.
Ativan can help in anxiety and pexidep in depression.
But for symptom like someone is following you requires anti psychotic medicine like trifluoperazine or olanzapine. Current fear symptom also is that type of symptom.
I suggest you to visit same psychiatrist again(if not feasible consult other one) with past medical records/prescription if you have, you can be counseled and made relaxed with consultation. No need to start medicine if problem is there for 2 days. However if problem persists, psychiatrist can prescribe medicine later on.
As early as you will consult psychiatrist, better the chance of stability without medicine.
