Can Carmicide Be Given For Diarrhea To A Baby?
Question: Can I give carmicide to my two month old baby as she is passing watery stools continuously?
Brief Answer:
relax.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
Diarrhea is mostly viral in nature and settles in few days.
Sometimes infants pass increased number of stools due to gastrocolic reflex which settles of its own.
I do not suggest carmicide drops.
Give probiotic for few days and continue with breastfeeding.
Watch her activity, feeding pattern, urine output and in case there is any refusal of feeds/decreased urine output/lethargy get her examined by pediatrician for further management.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing your baby good health.
God bless..
