Can Clindamycin Cause Itching On The Body?

Brief Answer:
Considerations.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the query.
It is possible the itching you have may be related to the clindamycin. Antibiotics can cause a range of side effects or allergic side effects including rash, itching, nausea or vomiting.
I would suggest you contact your primary care doctor to see if an alternate antibiotic can be prescribed.
If the clindamycin is causing the itching I would expect the symptoms to gradually resolve within 3-4 days. If the symptoms persist then your doctor may consider doing some additional workup to help explain the itching.
Thank you again for sending the query.
Sincerely,

Excellent! And thanks for the prompt response.
Can it case rash? Would any of the medicine i am trying, Creams and lotions, will help that red color rash due to the itching? Or, do I need to take internal medicine to get rid of it? And finally I experienced severe itching on palm of my hands, legs, and penis (genus). Is that the possibility?
Brief Answer:
Followup
Detailed Answer:
hello again.
Topical creams or lotions will not likely help the rash. Discontinuing the medication is the most likely best way to reduce the rash.
Regarding the itching. Again this could possibly be related to the medication. I would recommend that you stop the medication and talk to your doctor about some alternative.
thank you again for sending the question.
