Brief Answer:
Doxycycline for RA

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to read that you have RA and that your treatment plan has not been going as you would like. Your provider is trying doxycycline but the side effects for includes being unsteady gait and feeling intoxicated. I would recommend stopping your medication because the studies have not really shown much improvement in RA with doxycycline. There are other medications that will help more and will have less side effects. I think is unreasonable for a doctor to recommend a medication that is causing so much discomfort for minimal improvement in your condition.

I would recommend that you see a rheumatologist who could better control your disease and use medications that you can have minimal side effects

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
