
Can HIV Test Result Change After 6 Months?

Question: Dr i have had 3 negative hiv test since unprotected vaginal sex with a co worker in december...i just recently had a negative 5 month antibody with my dr i am retesting for a 4th time at 6 months will the results change from 5 to 6 months? Am i in the clear?

The possibility that it will change is negligible. In most people (95%) antibodies develops in first 8 weeks. And in more than 98% of people it develops within 4 months. Only in patient who have some immune system diseases ot can be prolonged to 6 months. SO you should not worry at all if you had 5 month negative test. Wish you good health. Regards
