Can Ibuprofen Be Given For Joints Pain While On Digoxin After A Stroke?

Question: My mother has had two strokes and is paralyzed on right side and is on digozin for her heart. Can I give her ibuprophen for joint pain?
Brief Answer:
With caution, yes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Only long term use of ibuprofen ( more than 7 days) increases blood levels and possible toxicity of digoxin, so, if you will use small doses for a couple of days, you can give ibuprofen to your mother, if no high blood pressure, allergy to ibuprofen or gastroduodenal ulcer.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
