Can Imiquimod Be Used While Having Squamous Cell Carcinoma?

Question: my dermatologist prescribed Imiquimod cream to put over the small nose incision he made to remove squamish cell cancer but there is a thin layer of cancer cells remaining. I am suppose to take for six weeks 3 cays a week, but reading about the cream on the web it seems dangerous for me with a red nose, pain, scabs on the nose and upturning my immune system. I need a second opinion on the cream.
Brief Answer:
Imiquimod is an anticancer drug
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
Imiquimod is effective in the treatment of basal cell carcinoma as well as squamous cell carcinoma.
That is why you have been advised to use it three times in a week for 6 weeks.
It can be used once the surgical site heals.
If you are having a red nose with pain only it can be used but if the site has not healed yet you can consult the doctor again and ask for alternatives.
