Can Ipratropium Bromide Inhalation Solution And Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Solution Be Used Together?
can be used safely together, no known interaction
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Yes, they can be used together. There is even a medication called combivent , that contains a combination of the ipratropium and albuterol together.
The doses and frequency of use should be dictated by your doctor according to the severity of your asthma attack.
Normally for an acute attack, 500 micrograms of ipratropium is used, the maximum amount allowed in a day is usually 2 mg (4 times the 500 micrograms) for adults.
For albuterol, in an acute attack, 2.5 mg to 5 mg initially, if the symptoms persist after 20 mins , a repeat 2.5 mg dose can be given and then repeated if needed
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
