Can Lisinopril Be Taken For High BP?
Question: I have had an ablation for afib 3 months ago, was taking sotalol after the ablation. 10 days ago I had a successful cardioversion and was put on tikosyn which is keeping the rhythm steady, but while in the hospital for the tikosyn observation for 3 days my BP was normal and on discharge the Doctor did not prescribe a BP drug. I have traveled to a remote area, a 3 hour drive from the hospital, which I am beginning to travel to. I have an old prescription for lisinopril which I successfully took for a few years. Shall I take a 10 mg lisinopril tablet now while traveling ? My BP is 160/103.

Hello Sir,
Greetings,
After going through your history, I can understand the concern you have regarding the disease condition of yours, my full sympathy is with you.
As per you question you want to know whether you can take Tab-Lisinopril 10 mg or not.
In my opinion since your BP is 160/103 mm of Hg, you should take the medicine Tab- Lisinopril 10 mg as you were already taking earlier, because your BP is quite high.
I further advice you to make an appointment with your treating doctor for further evaluation of your Hypertension (BP) and arterial fibrillation.
Hope I cleared your doubt, if further any you are most welcome,
Wishing you a very healthy life,
Regards,
Thanks.
