Can Metoprolol Cause High Blood Pressure?

Question: if i do not have high blood pressure, will taking Metoprolol for migraine prevention cause my blood pressure to drop ? Thank you.

I also take Zomig for migraines.

Hi and welcome.
If there is no previous hypotension then there should not be significant blood pressure drop if taken in recommended dosage for migraine prophylaxis. Also, you can try with small dosages 50mg and increase it if necessary. Also, if you don't have blood pressure variations as a primary cause of migraine then metorprolol may not be effective.
