Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
I am a Gastroenterologist and would be answering your query.
As per your query most likely you are having Stones in gallbladder.
Formation of gallstones is caused mainly by congestion and obstruction in the flow of bile.Factors like food habits, body weight and genetic predisposition undoubtedly play a role in formation of gallstones. Obesity and diabetes often increase cholesterol which in turn leads to cholesterol stone formation. Liver disorders such as fatty liver, cirrhosis and blood disorders such as sickle cell anaemia are many times responsible for bile pigment stone formation. This is the concept of modern medicine.
In regards to your query regarding energy XXXXXXX medicine believe that all three doshas(disturbances) viz.
1) vata
2) pitta
3)kapha play a role in formation of gallstones.
Excessive increase of pitta (caused by hot, spicy food, alcohol etc.) creates the basis for stone formation.
Kapha increased by fatty, heavy foods mixes with pitta and produces a highly sticky mixture.
Vata dries this mixture and moulds it into shape of a stone.
A disturbance in equilibrium of these three energies causes the problem.
But modern medicine does not believe in concepts of energy.
Hope you got the information.

I'm going to write out whats been going on and see if you think it is gallstones.
We were on vacation until this past Wednesday. mid morning on Wednesday i wasn't feeling like myself i guess disoriented. I started having a dull pain in the mid section of my back on the right side. It was dull for about an hour, over the course of of the next four hours driving home no position was comfortable. It felt like a pole was sticking in through my back. About two hours in i became very nauseous and eating bits of food only made it worse as did drinking water. I started getting a pain below where my ribs connect. By the times we got home i was very tired and nauseous and in a good amount of pain. I then had a strange painful tapping in my upper right abdomen. i went to sleep and my husband woke me up at 6pm. i took a melatonin gummy around 8 to try and sleep through the pain. i woke up around 1 am in horrible burning pain. everything was hurting at this point and nothing was helping, it didn't matter where i tried to lay there it was unbearable. i took a pain pill for a previous surgery a slept for the rest of the night. the next morning i work up in less pain but still my back was hurting and my upper abdomen was still sore and still feeling like i was going to be sick. i pretty much slept for the next three days straight with not much eating drinking some water and having a horrible headache. i took 4 ibuprofen and it did nothing for my headache. i would sleep and still wake up with it. i haven't really been able to use the restroom i finally was able to go yesterday and i went again today but today it was pretty loose and looked lighter (sorry for the tmi) yesterday was a good day i was able to get up and take care of the kids and clean up a bit but today between my shoulder blades are hurting and i'm feeling a bit nauseous. does this sound like a gallbladder issue or does it sound like something else is going on?
sorry for the long email.
thank you for you information

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I am sorry for your problem.
I assure you, You would be fine soon.
Going through your narration there are two possibilities-
1)Gastroenteritis-It is an intestinal infection marked by diarrhoea, cramps in abdomen, nausea, vomiting .However its not necessary that all symptoms are there in a single patient.Nausea causes electrolyte imbalance hence causing headache(Headache not responding to painkillers can be due to electrolyte imbalance). Some times enteritis is associated with gastritis in which excess acid irritates the lining of gut causing severe heart burn which presents as retrosternal pain(as mentioned by you behind ribs and sternum junction).
2)Gall bladder stone-Right sided recurrent pain radiating to shoulder blades and back associated with nausea are charactersic presentation of patient with gallbladder stone.
However frankly speaking in gastroenterology almost every disease presents with same symptoms,So reaching a diagnosis just on the basis of history is very difficult.
Test adviced
Ultrasound abdomen-To rule out inflammation of intestines(Enteritis) and gall bladder pathology.
Rx
Till the time investigation are done,
Take Omeprazole 40 mg (OTC) once daily-Antacid.
Take Tramadol tablet 50 mg twice daily(Gall bladder pain responds to Tramadol).
Try to drink water and orange juice to normalise electrolytes in your blood.
Follow up with reports
Wish you a early recovery.
