Can Paracetamol, Nurofen Or Demazin Be Taken While On Nexium?

Question: Hi dr,

I am currently on a Nexium prescription of a 40mg tabelt once a day in the morning. I am coming down with a bit of a cold and I was wondering if I can take either Paracetamol, Nureofen or Demazin whilst on Nexium? And besides those what can't I take while on Nexium in case it causes any bad reactions.

Thanks for asking on HealthcaeMagic.

Nexium (esomeprazole) is a very safe medicine and can be taken with the mentioned medicines without worries. It does not usually give bad reactions with common medicines and hence am skipping the list.

You can take steam inhalation. It is the best thing for cold. Water in the form of vapor, reaches deep insde the respiratory tracts and dilutes the cough and thus provides releif. Paracetamol will help in controlling temperature and also body ache. Cetirizine once daily for a few days would be helpful. In general no other medicine needs to be taken for cold. You will have to be patient as usually it lasts for a week.

Thanks for that doctor at the moment I just have a bad headache and a conjested nose so what would be best for that?
