Can Polybion Be Taken During Pregnancy?

Question: Hi doctor,
we need clarification on polybion tablet....
my wife s currently 31 week 5 days pregnant.. our regular doctor has given following tablets..
feroglobin b12... morning and night time
calmagic hd... night time..
ultra d3 2000... night time...
polybion tabket afternoon...

today we went to other known doctor to take second opinion on if everything s fine... doctor siad that everything s fine but they have asked us to stop polybion tablet... they siad it us not safe at this point of time... now we are confused pls tell us if polybion tablet s safe to take till delivery or not..

Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
pOLYBION tablet is METHYLCOBALAMINE , which is entirely safe in pregnancy and the maximum daily dosage which can be taken during pregnancy is 500mcg. So ideally it is supplemented with folic acid and iron tablets itself, which are continued till term.
Hence if your iron supplement doesn't contain polygon, then it can be continued as another tab till term without any effect on pregnancy. Rest assured.
