Can Remeron And Melatonin Be Taken Together?
Sorry, I meant 12 am and 1:45 am. I was also wondering if I could just take 200 mg of trazadone.
I have an appointment with my psychiatrist on Tuesday. I was wondering what medications you think are good for sleep that I can ask him about. GHB? Phenibut? Prosom? Midazolam? Valium? Do you think any of these five will help me sleep and won't interact with my other medications or do you know of another sleep medication that is good that won't interact with my other medications?

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.
It is safe to take Remeron and melatonin together. Melatonin is less effective the higher the dose -- I would actually take 1mg rather than 3mg or 6mg.
Trazodone 200mg is too high, I would not take this dose. This would be dangerous.
You mention 5 medications and ask if they are effective for sleep -- the answer is no to all of them. Most of these listed are benzodiazepines or barbiturates and are addictive and do not result in restful sleep.
I recommend you take a look at two major things -- CBT for insomnia, and quetiapine. The first is a structured therapy that very often works when medications fail. The second is a medication originally developed as a neuroleptic but is used at very low doses for sleep.
